I think Prakish tries to be polite to Lenny because he feels bad. Everyone judges him and makes fun of him. I also think Lenny tries to be polite to Lenny because it is his birthday. Prakish is probably the only one who cares.
I think Prakash is trying to be nice to Lenny even though he wants him to leave because he was the one that invited him, so he couldn't just tell him to go. It also could be that he feels bad for him. Lenny doesn't have any friends, but he feels that Prakash is almost a friend.
I think Prakash is doing that because there is no one else being nice to Lenny. Also in the story Prakash is just sweet to everyone. In the story Prakash says not to call the police on Lenny because he might not have taken the money.
Prakash tried to be polite to Lenny because he is compassionate. Also he wants everyone to feel like they have a friend. I really look up to him for that. Another reason is it was Lenny's birthday. Anyone would feel bad for someone if they aren't able to celebrate.

But he was wanting Lenny to leave his house because he didn't want his parents (especially) his dad to see him because Lenny hangs around their store. Lenny is also very dirty and weird to them.
