Why does Spit insist on acknowledging the truth - that he lost the race?

  1. I think Spit acknowledges the truth because he is honest and kind. That is also a great heroic feature. Spit is kind, honest, and is really a hero.

  2. I agree with Brook. He is honest and kind, and I said his heroic quality was honesty last night. Plus, when Spit was bumped, he may of thought that it was a pothole. I doubt Leslie knew he bumped him, because his trolley was so "big and magnificent."

  3. I think Spit insisted to know the truth-that he lost the race to Leslie so he could know before he died. I agree with Brook that he was a brave hero. He really is a real hero.

  5. I thought Spit acknowledges the truth because he knew he was going to die so he didn't want to lie before he died. this is true because he seems honest. Brook is right about him having heroic features.

  7. Spit insists that he lost the race because he wanted to die honest. That was very noble of him to do. This is a great heroic quality I hope we all will have!

  8. I agree with Aidan about the "big and magnificent" trolley. Everybody there ,including Leslie, must have thought it was a pothole.

  9. He insists because Spit wants to know who won whether he lost or won. Also Spit wanted to see if hes friends will tell the truth since he already knew that he lost. I found this on page 30 and 31.

  10. He needs to know the truth because he is a good person. You can tell because he is so honest.

  11. I think that he must know the truth because he is honest a quality of a hero. I would not like someone to lie to me on my final request

  13. In what way does this make him a hero?

  14. Spit is a true hero he truly has it. He really says the truth because he really does act brave throught the entire story. He talks about the British Queen and how he will beat it easily. But because he bumped the heroic out of him.

  15. I think Scho wanted to admit the truth to make himself a real hero in a way. A real hero tells the truth and does not lie to people. So Spit is like that to be a hero.

    RIP Spitt

  16. I think Spit needed to know the truth before he died because he wanted to see what the people told him. BEcause he is honest, and showed it right before he died. HE did this by saying "No. I lost. Leslie won."

  23. Mia is right. Spit is trustworthy and you can't trust someone who is not trustworthy. I wrote about that last night.

  24. I think Spit needed to acknowledge the truth because he knew he was to die and he didn't want the last thing he did was lie. This was very heroic. Most people would want everybody to know that they won before they died and that was the last thing they did.
