Opals mother is an important character because the book is about Opal and it is a mystery where Opal's mother went. I think she is also a main character because I think Opal will find her mother in the of the book. I saw in the text that Opal wants to find her mother so that is why her mother is a big character. Benjamin Knapp
I think that Opal's mom had a great impact on Opal. If her mother was there the story would be greatly changed. She would not be shy or lonely all the time. I think his father would not be a turtle
I agree with both of you. If Opal was not so insecure about her mother's absence, she may have been more open and outgoing. Her quest to find her mother is a central theme of the book as well. Do you think that both of these factors make Winn Dixie even more important to her than he might have been if the situation were different?
Opal's mother is a very important person in the book because Opal is trying to learn more about her. She's also is a important character because Opal is trying to find her. -Micah Scott
I believe that Opal's mom is an important character in "Because of Winn-Dixie" because she gives an impact on to Opal in a way that alters Opal's point of view. If Opal knew her mom I think she would be more confident. Also, if Opal's mom were a seen character then her dad might not be a "turtle".
Why do I think that something BIG will happen that relates to Opal's mom?
Opal's mother is a very important character because she has so much influence on Opal. She really looks up to her mom and always wishes she could she her again. If I was Opal I would search in the phone books and surf the internet the internet trying to find a picture or an address. You never know, Opal's mom could have a Facebook or something. :)
(bows) thank you You know, this third blog (What decisions does opal make...) has almost no posts, so why don't we post on it? Oh yeah, I have a discussion question there.
opal's mom is a very important person in the story because the mother defines the daughter. opal won't know who she is until she understands her mom.I sort of understand. I look up to my mom. Vanessa
She is an important character in the book, even though she never appears, because Opal wanted to know about her mother ever since she moved to Naomi Florida. Opal does not have many friends so she is lonely and she now more than ever wants someone to comfort her.
Opal's mother is important because she is so much like Opal. If my mother ran away when I was three I would try to find her! If Opal's mother came back Opal's life would cahnge a lot and they would't be so sad. I bet if her mother came back Opal would be telling her everything!
unfortunately I do not think Opals mom will ever come back.I wonder why she left in the first place. could it be because her husbands the preacher. Also where did she go

Opal's mother is very importaint because Opal always asks about her and she is part of the story of Opal's life. -Courteney Tully
ReplyDeleteI agree too... I think if Opal's mother was with her she would not be as shy.
ReplyDeleteAre there two Courtneys?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I feel sorry for Opal, I have known my mom since I was born and I still have her but Opal dowsn't even remember here.

Opal's mother is verymportant because most of the book is about finding Opal's mother. I thought she was Gloria Dump. Thats my opinion, though.
ReplyDeleteAlex, did you think Gloria Dump was Opal's mother?
ReplyDeleteShe is spoken about a lot and is the main characters mother.
