  1. Dear Ms. Adams,
I have just finished reading the 4th Cirque du Freak book, Vampire Mountian. I saw the movie trailer and it is nothing like the books. I wish movies and books would be more similar. I think the same way with A Series of Unfortunate Events. I don't get how you could have a events when the events in the movie aren't in the right order!

  10. In the book Found Jonah, the main character is adopted. All he wants to know who he is and what he is meant to be. At times I go through phases like who I really am. Though times can be rough or smooth you always want to know who you are. Its a good fealing.

  12. Dear Ms.Adams & Class,
I am reading 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' by J.K. Rowling. So far, Harry had almost been expelled from Hogwarts. But he did not get expelled and has had the worst first week he has ever had. He was really scared he was going to be expelled. When he was not expelled, he was relieved. I can make a text to world connection. Many people are anxious something bad is going to happen. When that thing doesn't happen, that person is most likely relieved.

    Sincerely,
    Brook Yearin

  13. J.J. I totally know how you feel. Movies are usually way different than the books, and it makes me mad! Its really to bad that movies can only have 120 page scripts.

    Sincerely,
    Brook Yearin

  14. Dear Ms. Adams,
If I were a character in my mystery book I would want to be Klaus. He is smart and everything he reads he remembers. If I was in a situation, I would want to have knowledge on my side.

  15. Dear class,
Today I read HOLES. I read chapter 48. I could visualize Stanley saying good bye to his friends. I can connect to this because when I left Oregon I was sad because I was leaving my friends and was scared about Arizona. Next I predict Stanley will open his suitcase, and find dollar bills. I wonder why the warden embraced Zero, though she is mad at him all the time.

  16. Dear class,
Today I read HARDY BOYS. I read chapter 3. I could visualize how dramatic the situation was. Joe fell in the river, and was unconsciencous. I can connect to this because once my brother was hurt at Jeepers, and needed immediate attention. There was blood everywhere, and I was really scared. We rushed him to emergency, and he had 8 stiches in his forehead. Next I think the Hardy boys will find Captain McGuire, and question him. I couldn't believe Joe fell in the river, he is usually so agile.

  17. You know the stories with holes question that said,''OH what have I done!''yelled the woman, as the phone rang. I Think the answer is the woman was waiting for a friendly phone call for a long time but then she finnaly lost her mind and jumped out of her building window just as the phone rang.

  18. Today I am reading my first 30 minutes of a new book called TEEN IDOL by:Meg Cabot. I chose this book because the last book I read which was PRINCESS IN LOVE by:Meg Cabot was so good. So far in the story takes place at a high school. I have no idea why it is called teen idol because nothing yet has to do with music. Apparently The story takes place with something like a journal just like in the other book I read by:Meg Cabot. If you are wondering what the something like a journal is, it's an ask (his, her) kind of thing you have in high school.

  19. Jeffrey,
I have experienced the same thing with my brother. One night it was raining and my house had steps to get to the front door and we raced each other to the door and my brother fell and hit his bottom lip and had to go to the hospital and get stitches. You can still see his scar today.

  20. Dear class,
Today I read HARDY BOYS - The Clue of the Screeching Owl. I have read up to Chapter 5. So far, I have no idea why it is called Clue of the Screehing Owl. There aren't any owls, only circus and dramatic events in the forest. Frank and Joe Hardy are looking for Mr. McGuire. In Chapter 4, titled "The Windowless House". Frank and Joe were surprised when they saw the house with no windows. I can relate to this because, while walking througth the desert a found some ripped clothing, that was burned, and some oil cans, along with 101 pennies and I wondered how they got there.

They are still looking for their Dad's friend, Police Captain McGuire. I can visualize the old woman they meet, she reminds me of my Grandma, just not as grouchy. Next I think they'll run into a sheriff, and they will ask him if he has seen Cap. McGuire.

  21. Dear class,
Today I read Warriors;INTO THE WILD. I read to Chapter 1. So far I thought I could see Rusty hesitating when Graypaw spoke to him. I could connect to this because I once had been on stage, but I was hesitating because I forgot what to say. I wondered why Rusty ran away from home. I assume next he will join the thunderclan.

  24. Dear class,
Today I read HOLES, and finished the book. I read Chapter 50, the last chapter. They were celebrating that Camp Green Lake was closed down. I have a visual of Stanley watching the television while Sweet Feet scored. I can connect to this because I've been to parties, while watching baseball on television. I think the author may write his next book about Hector. My favorite character in this book was Stanley. The biggest thing I learned from this book was to help each other. You can do more together, than by yourself. I wonder why Sweet Feet thought he wasn't a good player. It was a very good book. I recommend the class to read it.

  25. I just finished reading my Nancy Drew book. It wasn't the most descriptive book I've ever read, and definetly not the best! I could make some text to world connections because the way the author organized things, It was like those cop tv shows.

  27. Dear Ms.Adams and class,

This journal entry is for the week that we had a day off Monday.I think it was Columbus day. Today I am reading another few chapters in a book I have recently started called 3 WILLOWS.So far it's about (three) kids which makes me think about the title of the book (three)willows. It also keeps talking about this piece of a tree?I can make a connection for when they mensoned the words (bad lands) made me think of the show Dino Sapien.Where they actually have bad lands.

    Sincerely,
    Alexandra Deweese
